Update Your GCISD Chromebook
GCISD utilizes Chrome Gopher to ensure your device remains compatible with software updates and maintains peak performance.
Follow these steps to update your system:
Power on your Chromebook and open the Chrome browser.
Click the Gopher icon located on the right side of the Chrome toolbar.
• The Chrome Gopher window will indicate if your device has an update. If not, congratulations! You’re good to go.
• If your Chrome is out of date, simply click the large blue Fix It button and the Chromebook will start downloading and installing the necessary files.
Once your update is finished you only need to restart.
Digital citizenship includes safeguarding yourself and your electronic devices: hardware and software. The best way to do that is to keep your GCISD Chromebook up to date with the latest software.
